Where is it? Who is it suitable for? What do I need?
Located close to the tiny village of Rhyd Ddu, lies the famous Nantlle Ridge. It’s made up of several summits with around 1100m of ascent and a linear route of 10km if starting in Rhyd Ddu and finishing near Nebo in the Nantlle Valley or 19km for a return trip to Rhyd Ddu.
We need to take 2 vehicles for the linear route. leaving a vehicle at the start in Rhyd Ddu and another close to the finish at the end of the day.

Who is this guided hike for?
Perhaps you have enjoyed some familiar local hikes on lowland hill or mountains, and now want to explore some bigger mountain areas, you will have very good hiking fitness and a yearning for a mountain challenge, but don’t have the confidence to go on un marked rough tracks in an unfamiliar big mountain area.
Thats where our expertise works for you,we do the work so you can enjoy your guided mountain hike, no need for you to plan routes, no need for expert navigation in poor visibility, leave that to your qualified Mountain Leader.
You do need a good level of fitness and depending on the time of year, be ready for very mixed ground conditions, everything from wet and boggy ground to heath, heather and rocky mountain summits.

All of guided mountain hikes and scrambles are led by fully qualified Mountain Leaders with excellent local area knowledge, as they work and live full time in the mountains of Snowdonia.
Maximum ratios on our guided Nantlle Ridge mountain hikes are 10 clients to 1 Mountain Leader.
What kit do I need?
You will need good sturdy mountain boots to give your feet the best support and ankle protection for rocky ground. Clothing to match the forecasted weather and the time of year. Lighter weight clothing for summer and heavier weight in winter – generic type hiking trousers, base layer, fleece and waterproof shell layer, waterproof over trousers. Boot gaiters can be a fantastic idea for the wetter months and winter.
You should have a small rucksack to carry your food, water, warm hat, gloves and other personal items during the day.

How long is this guided hike?
Average length of this guided mountain hike is 7.5hrs if we do a linear route. For a round trip hike back to our start then it can take around 9hrs.
