Day Skills Refresher Course in Snowdonia, North Wales
This is
the ideal day for those of you who have plenty of winter walking experience.
It will be a day of practical sessions for ice axe arrest and walking
axe use.

Day Introductory Winter Walking Skills Courses in Snowdonia, North
Wales.
The first
day will be spent learning the basic skills such as the correct use
of a walking ice axe, its use for traversing slopes and for general
walking, how to cut steps with your axe and how to use your axe in a
safe manner. The correct fit of crampon to boot is very important and
we will look at different crampon types, their use, advantages and disadvantages
as well as the different styles of walking in your crampons.
The second
day is a mountain day, we will refresh the skills learnt on the first
day while we enjoy a fun day in the mountains. Instructors on these
courses are experienced Winter Mountain leaders, there may also be trainee
Winter Mountain Leaders Assisting.

Day Courses in Snowdonia, North Wales.
These courses
are extremely comprehensive with the emphasis on getting into the mountains
for a full on winter walking week taking in some classic winter walking
routes. The course will cover and put into practice on a daily basis:

By the end
of your winter skills course you will be much better prepared for your
adventures in the winter mountain environment and above all, you will
have had expert tuition from fully qualified instructors with a wealth
of worldwide mountaineering experience. Instructors on these courses
are MIC holders with trainee Winter Mountain Leaders and trainee MIC
as assistants.
Please
note: you should already have previous summer walking and/or
scrambling experience , you will need your own crampons, boots and walking
axe plus the relevant clothing for winter conditions.
