Arthog Outdoor education bring you the following NGB Award. The course is provided by and based at Arthog OEC, Barmouth, North Wales.

This 6-day Training course delivers theory, practical skills and techniques in a real mountain environment and follows the MLTB course content for the Summer Mountain Leader Award.

Mountain Leader Training
You need a minimum 12 months experience of mountain walking with at least 20 quality mountain day walks, plus an interest in leading groups. With a minimum age of 18 years, you must be a member of the BMC or other Mountaineering Council before registering with the MLTB (separate registration from the SPA). You will be required to send your pre-course logbook pages to Arthog prior to the course.

The training courses are run over a consecutive 6 day period involving both classroom based theory sessions and practical work, including a 2 day expedition and a night navigation exercise.

The MLTB state that 'after you have attended a training course you will need to complete a consolidation period, agreed with and guided by your training Course Director.

You must be a member of the BMC and register with your Regional Association before joining any course.
