Arthog Outdoor education bring you the following NGB Award. The course is provided by and based at Arthog OEC, Barmouth, North Wales.

Prior to assessment you must have completed a minimum 40 hill walking days and logged some leadership experience.Send your completed logbook to Arthog OEC when booking. Candidates must also hold a current First Aid Certificate and have fulfilled the pre-assessment requirements of the MLTB..

Assessment is over 5 consecutive days, with a similar format to training and includes a 3 day/2 night expedition.

Successful completion of this award qualifies the participant to lead a group of walkers anywhere in Great Britain under summer conditions. The course covers the full MLTB syllabus that includes:

Navigation,
Security on steep ground,
The weather,
Camp craft,
Personal equipment,
Access and environmental considerations ,
Group management,
Emergency procedures,
Leadership.
