Beginners Rock Climbing Course - 2 Days

£145 per person (course only)inc entry to climbing wall.

A beginners rock climbing course outdoors, for those with little or no previous climbing experience. Based in Snowdonia, this 2-day course will cover movement on rock, belaying and rope skills to show you what climbing is all about, both indoors and outdoors...

This 2 day Beginners Course will give you a very good idea what climbing is all about. Both indoor and outdoor climbing is covered along with the necessary skills of safe belaying.

The first day is spent at a local indoor climbing wall where you will learn about all the safety equipment needed for climbing, as well as how to use it correctly, and briefly comprises:

Correct fit of climbing harness and helmet

How to tie a rope into your harness

How to correctly keep your climbing partner safe - 'belaying'

Tips for warming up to avoid injury to cold muscles

Climbing movement skills

The Second Day will be spent outside getting the feel of real rock, you will be constantly practicing all that you learnt on day 1. We will also show you some of the different types of climbing protection used as well as showing you about rigging and anchors. If you want to learn more about gear placements and rigging sytems that is covered on the Learn to Lead Course.

After this 2 day course you will have had a good insight into what climbing is all about and will be in a good position to consolidate your skills at an indoor wall.


All necessary safety equipment will be provided .including helmets and climbing harnesses. 
Bring climbing shoes and harness if you have them. 
Wear loose-fitting clothing and sneakers/ trainers

Snowdonia is a mountainous area and as such the weather can be fickle, so please bring hats and gloves and fleeces plus a good waterproof jacket as you may just need them!
