On the first Day we like to spend the morning at a local indoor wall so that we can refresh your belaying skills for belaying a lead climber as well as learn about your personal climbing skills. We will also look at lead climbing at indoor walls. The rest of the day is then spent outside at local single pitch crags where you will climb as a second removing leader placed protection (gear), this will allow you to be relaxed and enjoy the afternoon climbing on rock.

The Second Day will be spent outside with the emphasis on correct gear placements and belay construction and then your first lead climb. We choose climbs well below your ability so that you are relaxed and comfortable and you can then concentrate on the gear placements and belays.

Remember all our courses are tailored to the experience and ability of course members giving you instruction and course content that matches your learning curve as well as your current experience.

We provide all technical equipment so all you need to bring with you is your harness, helmet and rock shoes and a small back pack to hold your kit plus food/drink for each day.

If you need to borrow harnesses or helmets please let us know and subject to your foot size we can hire rock shoes to you

Snowdonia is a mountainous area and as such the weather can be fickle, so please bring hats and gloves and fleeces plus a good waterproof jacket as you may just need them!

We employ MIA qualified Instructors on these courses. There may also be suitably experienced assistants on some of these courses who will be working along side the Mountaineering Instructor.
