five day rock climbing courses in Snowdonia North Wales

Over the first two days we will cover the essential skills of belaying, relevant knots and correct choice and fit of helmet, harnesses and other climbing equipment. We spend the first day indoors learning about indoor climbing as well as climbing skills before moving outside on to real rock. On day 2 we will also cover abseiling techniques, rope management, crag saftey, guide book use and take a look at the different types of climbing protection (gear).

Wednesday to Friday

Days three to five are multi-pitch climbing days where you will start learning about the different types of climbing gear and its placement and removal, the double rope system, anchor building and belay stations as well as spending a great deal of time climbing.

On your last day you should be ready to lead your first multi-pitch rock climb under close supervision from your instructor. All course members will have a full debrief from their instructors with advice on where to go from here.

All our courses are tailored to your needs so the course content can be modified to reflect your current experience and goals.

We can also offer the same course to individuals who wish to have 1:1 instruction

We employ suitably experienced SPA for days 1 & 2 and MIA qualified Instructors for days 3 - 5 on these courses. There may also be suitably experienced assistants on some of these courses who will be working along side the Mountaineering Instructor.

5 Day Rock Climbing Course in Snowdonia

This course is based at the excellent Tyn y Coed Inn in Capel Curig, North Wales.

Its a great place to stay with great rooms, superb food and a good atmosphere. There is also a dedicated drying room for you to use. You are also welcome to book extra nights before or after your course.

The course includes all technical equipment plus 5 nights accommodation with breakfast and packed lunch for 5 days and 3 course evening meal for 4 days. Arrival day is Sunday with a course finish and debrief on Friday.
