Charity Abseil events UKFrom £13pp Charity Abseils can have a very high media profile if you give the Press and TV enough notice of your event, this in itself can raise awareness of your charity and also encourage people to raise more sponsorship. |

does it cost ? from as little as £13 per person based
on a group of 70. A 25% deposit of the final cost will be required to secure the date and instructors for you abseil challenge. Please contact us for more details Our costs
are low for this type of event as we recognise your aims and objectives.
VENUE We will come to your building or structure or you can come to us if you prefer.
ADMINISTRATION A meeting will be set up between you and our staff member to arrange your abseil. All the necessary paperwork will be provided with your logos and any details added.
ON THE DAY Participants will be managed on the day by our staff. Registration, equipment and briefings are included.
INSURANCE £5,000,000 of Civil and Public Liability Insurance covers all abseil events. Personal Accident Insurance can also be provided at an additional cost.
SAFETY Safety is paramount. A risk assessment is carried out for the abseil venue. Signage and briefings and professional staff ensure your safety at all times. Snowdonia Adventures follows the guidelines laid down by the British Mountaineering council for Charity abseils.
STAFF Staff are experienced and suitably qualified and experienced holding the relevant nationally recognised certificates. MIA or SPA with big abseil experience.
EQUIPMENT We provide all technical equipment including harnesses and helmets for the group. All equipment is checked before and after every abseil. Equipment is also regularly replaced.
NUMBERS The majority of our abseils are open to any number of people, however if your group wants to book an abseil, we ask for a minimum of 30 people, please contact us with your details.
Frequently Asked Questions Before booking an abseil there are some questions we believe you should ask of a perspective provider. Remember what you pay for is generally what you get.Q: What experience do the organisation and it's staff have? A: All Snowdonia Adventures staff have the relevant National Governing Body Award for their role. All staff are vetted (Child Protection) inducted, we have a Child and venurable adult protection policy and site specific trained and risk assessments are carried out at each venue. All staff are First Aid Trained and assessed. Q Do you carry out risk assessments and are they available? A: Yes Snowdonia Adventures will be happy to provide a copy of the risk assessment carried out for your abseil. Please request this at the time of booking. Q: Do you have your working practice, staff and equipment assessed by an independent person each year? A: Snowdonia Adventures has highly qualified staff in house to review each site that we work on along with all our working practices. Our own in house advice is reviewed and action taken if required to incorporate new working practices,training and equipment. Q :Is your equipment safe and regularly inspected? A: Yes Snowdonia Adventures follows the Health and safety executive guidelines for assessment of equipment. Each item has its own safety log. It is inspected every three months by a competent inspector and visually inspected by staff each time it is used. All equipment has a maximum shelf life of 5 years to follow manufactures recommendations regardless of wear or use. This means we incur considerable costs in replacing equipment and part part of the cost is passed to the client. Q: Are abseilers well insured. A: Yes. Snowdonia Adventures carries a £5,000,000 insurance civil liability and public policy, as well as instructor negligence deliver and cover charity abseils. For a small premium additional personal accident insurance can be taken out by groups if required. Q: Who makes a profit from the Abseil? A: All profit made from an abseil goes towards replacing the abseil lines and safety lines which are usualy destroyed after a large abseil due to the high wear involved. We also make donations to charities that we support, currently we donate to Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation. An idea of prices In a usual abseil of around 90 - 100 ft we can get between 60 - 70 people down in a day.
If you require 2 ropes and there is enough room to operate 2 ropes then an additional rope will cost £500. The cost for a compulsory Pre - event inspection of the venue and the associated risk report is £250 Please note the above prices do not include any accommodation costs for our instructors if we have to travel outside North Wales. |
