Have a great day out in the mountains on one of our guided walks to the top of Snowdon, or in Welsh Yr Wyddfa. We usually meet in Llanberis and then catch the Snowdon Sherpa Bus to Pen Y Pass for the start of the walk. The cost of a one way Sherpa Ticket is £1.00. Going up the mountain we use the Miners or the PYG Track and then the Llanberis Path on the way back down, arriving back where we met at the start of the day. The meeting times in Llanberis vary according to the Sherpa Time table but we normally meet at 08.30 so that we can get the group together and check your kit before catching the 08.40 bus to Pen Y Pass. An average round trip time is 6hrs. Don't worry you don't need to be super fit as we always go at a gentle but steady pace, it does help if you have a good level of general fitness to let you enjoy the walk and the mountain scenery. This walk is open to individuals and groups of all abilities and ages but we do ask that if you are under 18 that a parent or legal guardian accompanies you. You will need to have correct footwear and clothing for walking on rough tracks in a mountain environment. We would recommend sturdy walking shoes (not trainers or street footwear) or suitable walking boots, in the summer months walking boots/shoes that are lightweight are ideal otherwise we would recommend walking boots, whether they are made from leather or synthetic with leather is up to you. A small day sack is handy for your food and drink for the day, up to 25Lt in size is ideal. Even in the summer mountain weather can be very fickle so its best to have enough clothing and waterproofs for every eventuality. We can always give you advice about things you may be thinking of buying if you are coming in to the mountains with us. All our instructors are qualified Mountain Leaders as a minimum. |
